FAQ

Answers to common questions about our products, documentation, ordering process, and legal framework.

Products & Research

Peptides are short chains of amino acids — the building blocks of proteins. They occur naturally in all living organisms and play key roles in biological signaling. In research contexts, synthetic peptides are used to study these signaling pathways, tissue repair mechanisms, metabolic regulation, and neurological function under controlled laboratory conditions.

All products sold by KERN RESEARCH LABORATORIES are intended strictly for in vitro and laboratory research purposes. They are not for human or animal consumption, are not FDA approved as drugs or supplements, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. This designation reflects the legal framework under which unpatented research chemicals are made available to qualified researchers.

In the United States, research chemicals sold strictly for laboratory and in vitro research purposes are legal to purchase. The research-use-only channel is the legally recognized framework under which these compounds are made available. Kern operates squarely within this framework. It is the buyer's responsibility to understand and comply with applicable laws in their jurisdiction.

Purchases are restricted to individuals who are 21 years of age or older and who are buying for legitimate laboratory research purposes. By completing a purchase, you confirm that you meet these criteria and that you will not use the products for human or animal consumption.

Quality & Documentation

Yes. Every order ships with a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis (CoA) from an independent third-party analytical laboratory. This document reflects the exact batch in your order — not a recycled document from a prior lot. It details purity, identity, and composition. If you need a replacement copy of your CoA, contact us with your order number.

All compounds are synthesized domestically in the United States under controlled manufacturing conditions. US-based synthesis means shorter supply chains, tighter quality control, and faster turnaround from production to your bench.

Every batch must meet a minimum purity threshold before it ships. The specific purity figure is documented in the batch CoA included with your order. If a batch does not meet our standard, it does not leave the facility.

Orders & Shipping

Orders placed and paid before 12 PM PST ship the same business day. Orders placed after the cutoff ship the following business day. We ship Monday through Friday, excluding US federal holidays.

We currently ship to all 50 US states. International shipping is not available at this time. We will update this policy as our operations expand.

All shipments are tracked, packaged professionally, and shipped discreetly. Products are sealed and labeled in accordance with standard research chemical handling procedures.

We accept all major credit and debit cards through our secure checkout. Additional payment options may be available at checkout. All transactions are processed through a PCI-compliant payment processor.

Storage & Handling

Lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides should be stored in a cool, dry environment away from direct light. Long-term storage at -20°C is recommended. Once reconstituted, solutions should be stored at 4°C and used within the timeframe appropriate for the compound. Refer to the product-specific documentation for handling guidance.

Visit our Reconstitution Guide for a step-by-step walkthrough of the reconstitution process, including solvent selection, volume calculations, and storage best practices. For general guidance, bacteriostatic water (BW) is the most commonly used solvent for research peptides.
